Jackson Chevrolet Pontiac Buick in LaFayette got a surprise visit Monday from a pair of bicyclist from Chicago. The two men are on their way to Marathon Island in the Florida Keys.

Michael Meyer and Asher Danziger recently graduated from Colombia College and planned the trip to a relative’s residence on the island.

The two men left Chicago Oct. 1, with about 70 pounds of cargo, including a GPS for each bicyclist.

The two men camp out most nights, with an occasional stop at a motel.

They told employees at Jackson Chevrolet Pontiac Buick that the weather had been “pretty cruel” with rain, wind, and cold until Monday.

You can follow the two men on their journey by visiting their website at www.beingbeings.com, where they post notes daily under “Notes.”

We would like to congratulate Michael and Asher on completing their trip to Marathon Fla. And we are happy to have been part of their adventure.
