The 2012 Walker/Dade 4-H Lamb Show was recently held at the Walker County Ag Center in Rock Spring. The annual show involves 4-H members participating in the lamb project from Walker County and Dade County.

Eric Worley won grand champion with his 132-pound lamb, while Maya Kennedy took reserve champion honors with her 116-pound lamb. Other local 4-H members who participated in the show were Ethan Kennedy, Garren Kennedy, Susanna Kate Bunn and Brittany Tennant.

Several local businesses sponsored this show, including AgGeorgia Farm Credit, Walker County Farm Bureau-Women’s Committee, Walker County Farm Bureau-Young Farmer’s Committee and Community National Bank. Funding provided by these sponsors made the show possible and allowed the 4-H members involved to be rewarded with ribbons and prize money.

Norman Edwards is coordinator of Walker County Extension Service.
