According to the LaFayette Police Department:
At 8:50 a.m. a Nissan Altima driven by 26-year-old John Ratliff of Chattooga County was traveling west on Villanow Street.
He ran a stop sign, colliding with 51-year-old Katherine Boss of LaFayette, driving a GMC Canyon truck that had just started through the intersection heading north at North Cherokee Street.
Boss was taken to the hospital to be examined, according to officials.
Ratliff admitted to being distracted by a dash mounted GPS unit in his vehicle, according to officer Darin Kelley.
He will face a charge of failure to stop at a stop sign for causing the accident.
