"We've received a total of 1,834 ballots as of the end of the day Wednesday (Oct. 17)," Catoosa elections officials Tonya Moore said.
Early voting opened Oct. 15 and will be allowed through Friday, Nov. 2. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The county has 41,316 registered voters, which means that 4.5 percent had voted early just three days after early voting opened.
Early voting is taking place at two Catoosa locations. Voters can cast their ballots in the elections office at Catoosa Hall at 7658 Nashville St. in Ringgold or at the Westside precinct at 3319 Lakeview Drive in Rossville.
Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will also take place for a special Saturday session on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early voting will also be extended until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1.
