Melissa Baker and Matthew Houston will marry Dec. 15 at 4:30 p.m. at Plantation Farms in Byron, Ga.

Formally of LaFayette, the future bride is the daughter of the late Gene and Mary Ann Baker of Rock Spring, Ga. She is a graduate of St. Andrews-Sewanee School and the University of Georgia, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in literature, art and education. The bride-elect is the director of student life at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Ga.

The future groom is the son of Glenn and Beverly Houston of Omaha, Neb. He is a graduate of Morristown-Hamblen High School West in Morristown, Tenn. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tenn. He is a professor of mathematics at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Ga.

Melissa and Matthew are members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Cochran, Ga. The Rev. Joy Fisher of Trinity will officiate the ceremony.
