GNTC volleyball squad gets sweep at Hiwassee College

Georgia Northwestern entered the last 10 days of its season on the road Tuesday night with a strong sweep of Hiwassee College, 25-10, 25-22, and 25-15.

Kayla Pierce (Gordon Lee) led the way with five aces and four kills. Candice McClain (LaFayette) had four aces and five kills. Alysa Daniel (LFO) had two aces and seven kills.

The Lady Bobcats (2-12) next play when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn. To take on Crown College this Friday night.

The all-freshmen squad will wrap up their home slate with “Pack The R.A.C.” Night on Monday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. The R.A.C. (Rossville Athletic Center) is the home to GNTC women’s volleyball and men’s basketball.

GNTC will play Oakwood University (Ala.) in a rematch of a Sept. 29 contest in Huntsville.

Head coach Carrie Powell is asking the high schools from which her squad hails to come out to the season-ending match to show their support of the program.

GNTC athletic programs compete in the NJCAA’s Region XVII and awards all students free admission with student ID.
