A hearse traveling northbound on Burning Bush Road in Catoosa County ran into a tree in a homeowners yard about 11:20 a.m. Friday, Halloween eve.
The hearse was carrying a body.
Tfc. Joe Gass with Georgia State Patrol Post 5 in Dalton said the vehicle swerved into the southbound lane, crossing over Country Lane, where it then went into the yard and hit a tree.
The driver was taken by helicopter to Erlanger Hospital. His status is not known at this time and the accident is still under investigation.
