The family of Alyadean Sisson Dale invites all who knew their beloved mother to a memorial service, at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 21, at Mission Glen Baptist Church on Happy Valley Road, in Rossville. Pastor R. V. Wells will officiate. The service will celebrate and honor the life of this incredibly amazing woman.
On February 29, 2012, at 9:30 a.m., the matriarch of our family passed into Glory, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Col. John Walter Dale, and mother, Beulah Sherrill Sisson, and father, George W. Sisson, and many other family and friends that preceded her in death. She was 84.
She is survived by her two sons and their families, George Walter (Dianne) and Michael Steven (Debbi), both in Florida; her brother Lake Sisson (Marilynn) of Rossville; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Alyadean Sisson Dale was a unique woman. She loved life, and all of God’s Creation. Her steadfast faith and belief in her Lord and Savior gave her a balance as she fought the ravages of the dreaded Alzheimer’s disease in her later years. Mother had a modest education, and did not achieve the degrees many obtain. However, we know that Mom earned her PH.D in MOM with us. She was a wonderful, devoted mother and wife.
In her earlier years, she worked in the textile industry. Mom was very active in community affairs: Women’s Auxiliary Police, Civil Defense Readiness Committee, and voter registration drives. She also was involved with the Order of the Eastern Star, VFW, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Group and the Marine Corp League. Mom was a true patriot, serving proudly alongside her husband, Col. John Walter Dale. Mom and Dad were proud members of the Mission Glen Baptist Church, of which they spoke so proudly, on many occasions. Mom will always be missed by those of us who knew and loved her.
