A LaFayette woman was arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly cutting her husband with a knife.

According to LaFayette Police Department reports:

Angela Diane Corbin of Henderson Street was arrested after an alleged domestic dispute turned violent.

The two were at their residence at 4 a.m. on March 5 when the argument began.

Fifty-year-old Corbin claims she wanted to discuss their marriage. He eventually got upset and “wanted her to leave him alone,” according to his statement.

The situation became a heated situation when the man began to gather his important documents. He continued to pack items, which elevated the argument.

Corbin picked up a knife and threw it at her husband, missing him as he sought cover.

The man fled down a hallway as Corbin approached with another knife.

“She retrieved another knife and sliced open his fingers, as he was trying to barricade himself into the bedroom” captain Stacey Meeks said. “It was his left pinkie and ring finger. It was a pretty deep gash, all the way to the bone.”

Detective Wesley Steele responded to the scene and is handling the case. He recovered an 8-inch kitchen knife described by the victim.

“It was recovered in the kitchen area and there was a lot of blood evidence everywhere,’ Meeks said.

“(Corbin) had attempted to clean it up off of the floor and sanitize the house before police got there,” Meeks said.

Investigators found blood in the hallway and the kitchen, as there was too much for Corbin to clean up.

The man received medical treatment for the injuries.

She was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault, with bond set at $5,699.
