The Gadsden State Cardinals (11-3) got 22 points from 6-foot-1 Taylor Adams this past Thursday as they claimed a 109-68 win over the visiting Georgia Northwestern Lady Bobcats.

Adams, who garnered state tournament MVP honors after leading Section High School to a state title a year ago, helped her team jump out to a 60-29 lead at intermission.

GNTC (6-7) was paced by freshman guard Kiarra Parks who cleaned the nets for 19 points. Post player Odessa Person added 15 points, 13 rebounds, and three steals in the road loss., while Chattooga High product Mariah Price contributed 16 points.

Emily Cole and Sierra Smith combined for just six points on 2-of-12 shooting behind the three-point arc.

"This was our first action after the break and we really came out rusty," said GNTC head coach Jim Williams. “Gadsden (State) is a quality program and they have done a good job these past two years getting us ready for our region play.”
