Dear editor,

Technology used to advance a better life for and authentic service to humanity is good; anything used to erode our rights is not.

In more than 1,000 jurisdictions across the U.S., drones are being used by national, state and local law enforcement without warrants. I call upon both candidates for district attorney to stipulate that they will not endorse a drone action without probable cause.

I ask all sheriff candidates to submit to this constitutional provision to enforce and protect all Catoosa and Walker citizens’ Fourth Amendment rights, and all other rights unless probable cause emerges for individuals organically.

Give us an answer before we vote, and join us (we the people) who are against drones spying, even if it is on U.S. public lands.

We still have a right to privacy of our papers and things. If you honor the U.S. Constitution, honor this and pledge “no drones without probable cause” in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, even on public lands.

Let all the people have all our rights.

I want all of mine.

Do you?

Alex Boyle, Chickamauga
