Catoosa County Sheriff Phil Summers said the investigation of the local business man who was shot in the face in Rossville last month is still active.

Police are pursuing suspects, he said.

He said the case has been complicated by the victim being in and out of the hospital due to complications from his injuries.

“We’re hopeful we’ll have success,” the sheriff said.

According to Summers:

The shooting occurred Nov. 13 at the intersection of Oak Street and Carline Road about 7 a.m. Officers arrived at the location and found Cofer, who lives at 7131 Mountain View Road in Ooltewah, Tenn., suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

Cofer operates a vending service and travels to business locations catering food and drink items to workers.

Investigators with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the case, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
