The North Georgia Community YMCA is offering a number of youth and adult sports, fitness, and after school activities for 2012 and into 2013.

Rookies flag football

Rookies flag football for boys and girls, ages 3-5, will be held Sept. 15-Oct. 20. There will be weekday practices and games will be played on Saturdays at Park Properties Field (3585 Cloud Springs Road). The fee is $50 per player and registration deadline is Aug. 30.

Rookie soccer

Rookies soccer for boys and girls, ages 3-5, will be held Sept. 8-Oct. 13. There will be weekday practices and games will be played on Saturdays at Heritage High School in Ringgold. The fee is $50 per player and registration deadline is Aug. 18.

Youth soccer

Youth soccer for boys and girls, ages 6-15, will be held Sept. 8-Nov. 3. There will be weekday practices and games will be played on Saturdays at Heritage High School in Ringgold. The fee is $60 per player for YMCA members and $80 per player for non-members and registration deadline is Aug. 18.

Sunshine softball

Sunshine softball for boys and girls, ages 7-21 with exceptional needs, will be held Sept. 10-Oct. 22. There will be weekday practices and games will be played at Park Properties Field (3585 Cloud Springs Road). The fee is $40 per player and registration deadline is Aug. 30.

Girls volleyball

Girls volleyball, for ages 7-15, will be held Aug. 27-Nov. 3. There will also be open gym play dates on Aug. 11 and 25. Practices will be held in Fort Oglethorpe with games at local YMCA's and tournaments played at UTC's Maclellan Gym. The fee is $75 per player and registration deadline is Aug. 25.

Youth tennis

Youth instructional tennis for boys and girls, ages 7-15, will be held Sept. 15-Nov. 3 at the Gilbert Stephenson Park tennis courts in Fort Oglethorpe. There will be Saturday instruction and scrimmage play. The fee is $75 per player and the registration deadline is Aug. 30.

Family karate

Family fitness karate for families and individuals over the age of six will be held year-round on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe. The fee is $20 per month for YMCA members, $50 per month for non-members, and $5 for each additional family member.

Zumba

Zumba classes for anyone over the age of 10 will be held year-round at the United Methodist Church Gym in Fort Oglethorpe. The fee is $20 per month for YMCA members and $28 per month for non-members.

Homeschool P.E.

The United Methodist Church Gym in Fort Oglethorpe will also hold two sessions of physical education classes for homeschooled students, ages 5-15. The first session will be Sept. 25-Nov. 1 and the second session will be Nov. 13-Dec. 20. The fee is $24 per session for YMCA members and $42 per session for non-members.

After school programs

Cherokee Ridge Elementary, Fairyland Elementary, Rock Spring Elementary, Tiger Creek Elementary, and West Side Elementary will hold after school programs year-round for student in pre-K through fifth grade. The fee is $40 per week for YMCA members and $60 per week for non-members. There will also be a one time per year $50 registration fee per family.
