A tractor-trailer traveling on Ga. 136 in Walker County overturned early this morning.

According to Georgia State Patrol:

The truck with Lane’s Equipment Rentals in Chattanooga was hauling scrap metal parts when the load shifted and the trailer landed on its side, spilling the contents.

There were no injuries in the incident, which occurred about 5:20 a.m., about two miles east of the Ga. 136 and Ga. 151 intersection, in a sharp curve on Taylor’s Ridge.

The heavy towing operations were able to free the truck from the trailer at about 8 a.m. and the road may remain closed for another hour or two as the trailer and equipment are recovered, according to trooper Andy Gideon with Georgia State Patrol post 41 in LaFayette.

The truck was traveling too fast for the curve, which caused the load to shift, according to Gideon.
