Students in Jack Town’s welding class at the Performance Learning Center in Fort Oglethorpe will be selling their fanciful creations at Ace Hardware in Ringgold on Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Even in the best of times, raising a family can be tough. Knowing that parents sometimes need help, a group of educators and community businesses joined forces in 1987 to create the Catoosa County Children’s Fund.

Individuals, businesses and civic groups donate money to help school children and their families in times of need. Families can apply for and get help with rent, utilities, food, clothes and medical care. Students can get glasses, shoes and school supplies. In these economic times, the demand for help has increased; last school year more than $24,000 was used to help families avert crises.

All proceeds from yard art sales will benefit the Catoosa County Children’s Fund, a 501-c3 non-profit. You can help by making a purchase at the Christmas Yard Art Sale or by making a tax-deductible donation to the Catoosa County Children’s Fund, PO Box 130, Ringgold, GA 30736.
