A Ringgold man is facing charges following a recent drug arrest that comes after a year on the run from an active robbery warrant in Catoosa County.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office:

Brian Hall Keast, 30, of Love Hill Road in Ringgold was arrested on July 18 on charges of robbery, possession of drugs, crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, intoxicants, or drugs, and driving on a revoked license.

Keast has been released from jail on a $14,500 bond.

Sheriff’s deputies made contact with Keast shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 18, when he was found passed out in his vehicle at an area gas station.

“I was advised of a possible intoxicated male subject asleep in his vehicle in front of a gas pump on the parking lot of the Kangaroo convenient store at the corner of Battlefield Parkway and Smitherman Road,” deputy F.B. Lamountain wrote in the report. “I pulled up behind the vehicle and approached the driver’s side door, which was standing open, and observed the offender (Keast) to be asleep.”

After being woken up, Keast stated that he was sleeping because he hadn’t been able to in two days, and that he had driven to the store to buy cigarettes, reports show.

Keast was then arrested after dispatch informed deputy Lamountain that his license was revoked through the state of Tennessee and that he had an active robbery warrant from Catoosa County.

The robbery warrant stems from a May 18, 2011, incident in which Keast allegedly stole a man’s wallet while in the bathroom of Los Reyes Mexican Restaurant in Ringgold.

“There were no injuries involved with that incident,” said Ringgold police chief Dan Bilbrey. “It was a quick snatching of the wallet by personal force…there was no weapon used in the robbery.”

After being transported to jail following his arrest, an additional incident arose while Keast was being processed.

“Once in detention, officers located a metal spoon containing a white powdery residue, which was located in the offender’s left shoe,” Lamountain said.
