A 21-year-old Ringgold man was killed Sunday morning when his car struck a power pole along U.S. 41 near Summit Hill Road in Catoosa County.

Georgia State Patrol dispatcher Michael Best said Joshua Dobbins was driving too fast around a curve when his car struck an embankment, going airborne. Dobbins’ vehicle then struck the top of a power pole, overturned and caught on fire.

Dobbins was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

I think the photos in this story are insensitive. It was not necessary for any of us to see this vehicle in flames with the young man inside. I hope his family does not see this, it would be very painful. My condolences go out to them.
