Spatial Effects and the Jeff Hullender Family will bring a mix of bluegrass and Southern gospel music to Sacred Sounds Fridays at the Ringgold Depot at Depot Street and U.S. 41 on Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in a special concert for the Share America Foundation, Inc.

Randall Franks, “Officer Randy Goode” from TV’s “In the Heat of the Night,” will emcee. Ticket donation is $5.

Spatial Effects will feature music from its new CD “Just a Closer Walk.”

“The CD features hymns and gospel songs that were recorded live in older churches in the area,” group member Tom Brown said.

The band includes Earl Brackin, Betsy Blankenship, David Crawford, Gary Thompson and Tom Brown. The album also features special guests Pam Gadd, Nancy Cardwell Erdos, Ferrell Stowe and John Pitts.

“Each track was recorded live, capturing the acoustic flavor of each individual church,” he said.

The Jeff Hullender Family will feature their unique family harmony blend.

Jeff Hullender learned his music traveling with his singing parents — Junior and Thelma of Ringgold. He also is a former member of the award-winning Gold City Quartet and performed with the Kingsmen and Teddy Huffam and the Gems.

Hullender is joined on stage by the talents of his children, Justin and Emily.

The event is a fundraiser for the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund. The Share America Foundation, Inc., a Georgia non-profit, presents scholarships to talented musicians who excel in the Appalachian musical arts.

Donations for tickets are $5 for adults, children 5-under free with adult. Tickets may be purchased at SonShine Christian Books in Fort Oglethorpe. Bring seat cushions for added comfort. For more information, visit shareamericafoundation.org or myspace.com/shareamerica.
