Turnovers doom Chattanooga Valley in loss to Trion

The Chattanooga Valley Middle School football team fumbled twice and threw an interception on its first three possessions this past Thursday and dropped a 40-14 decision at Trion.

Blaine Phillips led CVMS with 48 yards rushing on eight carries. He also threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Ivy Boehm. Markeion Jones had one reception for 32 yards, and recorded an interception on defense. Marquie Davis rushed seven times for 31 yards and made good on a 2-point conversion run.

Jeff Fowler led the defense with seven tackles, while Will Hodges and Tyler Cutts added six each. Markeith Montgomery finished with five, and Jay Bell had four, including two for loss.

The Eagles (0-1) committed six turnovers on the afternoon. They will look to get in the win column on Thursday when they play at Ringgold at 4:30 p.m.
