Maybe being in jail is the best thing for the kid? By not having the bad influence in the kid's life, it could have a positive effect on the child. I know that statement is kind of in fairy tale land, but we can all dream right?

My point: If your not ready for a kid, wear a lid.

every one has their own opinion, but think about this. if the father and/or mother is in jail, how can they stop being a "dead beat" dad and take care of their kids.

OR... They could stop being a dead beat and take care of their kids. They could also try having a relationship and planning children instead of knocking random chicks up. Also, actually trying at a relationship helps too, but instead, people depend on the government to raise their children. So I think if one of the parents isn't pulling their part they should be thrown in jail.

i think that putting a person in jail who has just started a job and paying child support for not being able to pay the arrears is a total waste of the legal system and over crowds our jail. if a person just starts a job and has made payments on child support, putting that person in jail, knowing they will loose that job is ridiculous.
