Voting in Walker County got off without a hitch this morning, despite much of the southern portion of the county experiencing power outages due to a wreck on Shattuck Industrial Boulevard.

The LaFayette Senior Center and the Center Post polling places did suffer power losses for almost two hours, but are now back up and running.

Voting was not interrupted, however, as the polling machines were able to continue functioning on their backup batteries during the outage.

Crowds should be normal at these and other polling places and no delays are expected.
