Georgia Northwestern roared out of the gates in their non-region game with Covenant College on Wednesday night racking up 19 points off turnovers in the first half. The pace continued in the final twenty minutes as the Lady Bobcats picked up a 70-47 win over the Lady Scots' junior varsity team.

Freshman Kiarra Parks led all scorers with 17 points in the road win. Fellow freshman Alana Jones dropped in 10 points, dished out five assists, and collected five steals on the night. Alyssa Nichelson would rack up 10 points and 10 boards for a double-double, and Sierra Smith would add a dozen points in the effort.

Senior Lady Scot Amy Dykstra led Covenant with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Georgia Northwestern used full-court pressure to lead to 30 Covenant turnovers. The Lady Bobcats would convert 18 steals in the defensive effort.

Terika Mostella added 11 rebounds as she tried to pick up the slack left in the absence of Odessa person, the NJCAA Region XVII's leading rebounder. Person continues to nurse a high-ankle sprain. She is listed as questionable for Saturday's home game against Georgia Highlands in Rome.

Georgia Northwestern (11-8, 4-0) will look to defend their Region XVII title at the post-season tournament, February 22-24, at Middle Georgia Tech in Warner-Robins.
