An 18-year-old Ringgold teen was arrested on multiple charges after, police say, she was found to be in possession of marijuana following a routine traffic stop for speeding.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Grecia Lucero Severiano, 18, of Cindy Circle in Ringgold was arrested on Feb. 10 and charged with speeding, driving while unlicensed, and possession of marijuana less than one-ounce. Her bond was set at $4,846.50.

Severiano’s run-in with police began around 11:10 a.m. when she was seen speeding along Cloud Springs Road.

“I observed the vehicle traveling in excess of the posted speed limit of 55 mph in a 40-mph zone,” officer James Clark said.

After initiating a traffic stop, it was discovered that Severiano was driving unlicensed in addition to speeding, reports show.

“When I requested to see her driver’s license, she stated that she didn’t have them with her and that she only had a permit,” Clark said. “I checked the suspect’s information and found her to be unlicensed, and never having been issued a driver’s license in any state.”

Severiano then admitted that she didn’t have a license and she was placed under arrest, reports show.

After being transported to the Catoosa County jail, Severiano earned an additional charge.

“Upon arrival at the detention center, a clear plastic bag was located inside the suspect’s purse containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana,” Clark said. “When shown the bag, she claimed ownership and admitted that it was indeed marijuana.”
