According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:
Marshall Brandon Lawrence, 18, of 81 Henegar Lane in Rossville was arrested and charged with burglary on Saturday, Oct. 20. He has been released from jail on bond.
Officers responded to a residence on Sage Brush Lane in regards to a theft call, in which the victim claimed a young man that had recently been to residence was responsible for the theft of two electric guitars and a Play-Station PSP (PlayStation Portable) video game.
The victim told police that the day before the incident, on Oct. 19, he had backed a trailer into his garage in an-ticipation of loading it down with items from the empty house that is on the market to be sold.
The victim also said that during that process, Lawrence came over to the residence wanting to look around be-cause he knew someone that may be interested in purchasing the home.
"The victim stated that he allowed the offender (Lawrence) to go inside and look around," officer Ray Bowman wrote in the report. "When the victim arrived back at the vacant residence the next day to start the sale, he noticed that two electric Ibanez guitars were missing from the trailer in the garage."
Later in the day, the victim says that Lawrence came over again while he was mowing the yard next door.
"The victim stated that Lawrence was asking about a baby bed he had seen for sale," Bowman said. "When Law-rence left, the victim noticed that a PlayStation PSP was missing that was lying on the trailer near where Lawrence had been standing."
The incident was then reported, at which time officer Bowman located Lawrence at his nearby residence at 81 Henegar Lane.
"I located the suspect offender, who made a voluntary statement to me that he had went into the victim's resi-dence and took the two guitars." Bowman said. "He also stated that if I took him to where the guitars were, he could retrieve them."
Detectives were then notified of the situation, at which time Lawrence was placed under arrest and lead officer Bowman to a storage unit where one of the stolen guitars was located.
Lawrence was then transported to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department, where his father arrived with the other stolen guitar, reports show.
