The voters were lined up and ready to cast their ballot as poll officials opened the doors at 7 a.m.

Within the first hour, the Rossville Civic Center had 100 votes cast, followed by a consistent flow of voters.

At noon 402 voters had made their 2010 decisions.

In local races, there are no contested races on the ballots in Walker County. But state races, like the governor’s race, are drawing voters to the polls.

There are a total of 6,558 residents registered within the Rossville precinct, of which 384 opted for early voting previous to today,

The Rossville Civic Center handled a total of 606 early voters as the site covers several precincts during early voting.

So far only 10 people have shown up at the Rossville precinct and been notified that their correct precinct is elsewhere.
