Chattanooga man arrested in Ringgold for child molestation

The FBI has arrested a Chattanooga man after he allegedly traveled to Ringgold to have sex with a child.

According to FBI agent Brian D. Lampkin:

Charles Darryl Akins, 33, of 2015 Duncan Avenue in Chattanooga, faces state charges of aggravated child moles-tation and child pornography, as well as violating the Child Exploitation Act of 1999.

Akins’ arrest was part of the FBI’s Northwest Georgia Safe Child Task Force.

FBI agents and undercover task force officers arrested him Thursday, March 10, after he traveled to Ringgold to meet the child. He remained this weekend in the Catoosa County jail. No bond has been set.
