Today, Aug. 31

· Registration for all Ringgold High School students is Aug. 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ringgold High School cafeteria. Freshman kick-off for Ringgold High School is Aug. 31 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ringgold High School cafeteria. Ringgold Middle School schedules will be available Aug. 31 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ringgold High School media center. 

· Walker County Community Organization Active in Disaster is a new group formed to address unmet needs of Walker County families experienced from a disaster event. Those interested in serving should attend the next meeting scheduled for Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. at the Walker County Civic Center.

· Gilbert Elementary invites students and their families to Open House between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. For more information, call 706-638-2432.

· Stone Creek Elementary invites students and parents to drop in between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. New students may register Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. For more information, call 706-866-3600.

Sept. 1

· School starts Sept. 1 for students in the Walker County school system.

Sept. 2

· Northwest Georgia Bank Navigators will host Dogs for Dogs on Sept. 2 at the NWGB Battlefield Financial Centre to raise money and awareness for Catoosa Citizens for Animal Care. For a $5 donation to CCAC, enjoy a grilled hotdog, chips, a Coca-Cola soft drink, and dessert. CCAC will have a few pets there available for adoption.

· Gordon Lake Wesleyan Church is holding a yard sale Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2 and 3. It will begin at 7:30 each morning. The church is located on Ga. 136 a little over a mile west of Walmart in LaFayette. For more information, leave a message at 706-638-6517.

· National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. will hold the Mid-South Regional Meeting at the Chattanooga Convention Center Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3.
