Fred Ray, 89, Ringgold
Fred Orvil Ray of Ringgold died Tuesday, October 25, 2011. He was 89. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas. He was retired from Combustion Engineering after 54 years of service and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Lakeview First Baptist Church and had served as choir director at various local churches. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and others preaching. He loved to travel, vacation and spend time with his family. He was an avid bowler for many years. He loved the Lord and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ruby Ray; his wife of 29 years, Helen Smith Ray; son, Stanley Ray; and brother, Charles Ray.
Survivors include his daughters, Tilly Fletcher, and husband, Matt, Tonyia Burkhart, all of Ringgold, and Ann Martin, Hixson, Tenn.; son, Lamar Ray; grandchildren, Joel Burkhart, Jesica Burkhart, and Samuel Fletcher; great-grandson, Hayden Brewer; wife, Mary Ruth Byrd Ray, Rossville; niece, Linda Weaver; and nephew, Don Ray.

Steve Scheunemann, 41, Ringgold
Steve Scheunemann of Ringgold died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at his residence. He was 41. He was a 1988 graduate of Tyner High School and was a member of Peavine Baptist Church. He was employed by Kordsa Global. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Lou Hichcock and grandparents, Otto A. and Geraldine Scheunemann.
Survivors include his wife, Kelli Scheunemann; daughters, Madison Scheunemann and Peyton Scheunemann; son, Kaden Scheunemann; parents, Mike Scheunemann and Gay Scheunemann of Chattanooga; sister, Kelly (Courtney) Treece of Chattanooga; nieces, Marylou Treece and Hermione Treece of Chattanooga; grandfather, William Hitchcock of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Pat Siniard of Rock Spring.; brother-in-law, Tim Siniard of Chattanooga; and several aunts and uncles.

Clay Daniel Burch, 35, Calhoun
Patrolman Clay Daniel Burch of Calhoun died Tuesday Oct. 25, 2011 following a sudden attack suffered while hunting. He was 35.
He was born October 10, 1976 in Floyd County. Son of Melvin J. Burch and Rachel Howell Saul Burch. He was a graduate of Ridgeland High School in Walker County and had been a patrolman with the Calhoun City Police Department for 4 years and was presently on the High Risk Search Warrant Team.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Elizabeth Burch and Mack and Lillie Mae Howell.
Survivors include his parents; his loving wife, Dawn Dunaway Burch; daughter, Madelyn Burch both of Calhoun; three brothers, Brian Saul of Fla., Todd Saul and his wife Carol of Cartersville, and Kelly Burch and his wife Tracy of Chickamauga; His in laws, Tina and Jimmy Moore of Plainville and Dewey and Karen Dunaway of Calhoun; his brother in law, Dewey Dunaway, Jr.; a sister in law, Keisha McDaniel and her husband Andrew all of Calhoun; five nieces, 2 nephews and one great-niece also survives.

Ralph Lewis Sizemore, Jr., 36, Chickamauga
Ralph Lewis Sizemore, Jr. of Chickamauga died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011. He was 36. He was born in Fort Oglethorpe and had been a lifelong resident of Walker County. He was a member of the Word of Faith Tabernacle. He was a former employee of Walker County Road Department where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and had also enjoyed coon hunting.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Elizabeth Sizemore who was the “apple of eye” and he loved her with all of his heart; a step-son, Brian Eades both of Rocky Face; parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Hill Sizemore; sisters, Tressie, Lynn, Candice, Carolyn and Angie, all of Chickamauga; several aunts, uncles, cousines, nieces and nephews.

Jaynelle McDonald Waters, 70, Ringgold
Jaynelle McDonald Waters of Ringgold died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at home after battling dementia for many years. She was 70. She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Alfred McDonald; in-laws Edgar and Aleen Waters; sister and brother-in-laws Gladys Helms, Charles Waters, Lee Lizana and Eddie Triplett. She wrote her memorial service wishes in 2002 and expressed joy that she was allowed to live out her lifetime dream as a wife, mother andgrandmother and also a kindergarten teacher and director. She expressed thanks to her church family for this opportunity. “I loved every day and thanked God every day. I could not have asked for a better life!” She signed her letter with “See you all in heaven”. She was instrumental in establishing the kindergarten program at the Ringgold First Baptist Church where she served as the first teacher and director for 29 years until her retirement due to illness. She is remembered and loved by her many Ringgold “children”. Even when she was so ill, a child could still bring a smile to her face.
Survivors include her loyal caregiving husband of 54 years, Jimmy Waters; three sons, Ricky and Rodney of Ringgold, Russell and wife Michelle of Lake City, Fla.; five grandsons, Tyler, Tanner, Matt and Jake of Ringgold, and Zach of Lake City; special former daughters-in-law Missy and Kim of Ringgold; sisters and brothers-in-law, Junior and Rosie Waters, Frances Lizana, Mary Jo Triplett, Clinton and Vickie Waters, Imogene and Frank Fejerina; two sisters, a brother and spouses from Dalton, Georgia, Joyce and Richard Miles, Frank and Elaine McDonald, Jean and Reg Burnett; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thelma Elizabeth Harper Myers, 98, Chickamauga
Thelma Elizabeth Harper Myer of Chickamauga died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011. She was 98. She was a gracious Christian lady who loved and adored her family. She was a warm and caring person and enjoyed many friends. She was born in Chickamauga on June 3, 1913 to the late Roderick Uell and Mary Anne Yates Harper. She was a lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area and was a homemaker. She was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being a part of the JOY Sundady school class. She enjoyed sewing and needle point as her hobbies. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of sixty one years, Luther Gordon Myers; sister, Lillian Houston; brothers, Harry Harper, Roderick Harper and an infant sibling.
Survivors include her children, Leon (Wanda) Myers of Canton, daughter: Jean Smith of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Joy Gentry, Chris Myers, Kevin Myers; four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Elfrieda M. Collison died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at her residence. She was 75. She was a 1954 graduate of Ringgold High School. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church and was a former teacher of the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Collison, parents, J.C. and Eva Massengale, and brother, Don Massengale.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joe Collison; daughter, Colleen (Mark) Long; sons, Richard (Gail) Collison, and John (Melissa) Collison; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Stanley and Kenneth Massengale.

Carolyn Ann Robinson Williams of LaFayette died Friday, Oct. 28, 2011. She was 59. She was a lifelong resident of LaFayette and was born to the late Russell and Katherine Sharp Robinson on August 31, 1952. She was a dedicated employee with Shaw Industries for more than 20 years and she enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Johnnie Belle Sizemore Jackson, 87, Rossville
Johnnie Belle Sizemore Jackson of Rossville died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 at her residence after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was 87.
She was a lifelong resident of north Georgia and a longtime member of Fort Oglethorpe First Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Joy Sunday school class. A devout Christian, she drew strength from her faith and inspired many around her. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She retired from UTC after serving 21 years in the athletic department as head secretary for all the coaches and ticket sale manager for sporting events. She was hired by the legendary A.C. Scrappy Moore and became part of the athletic family known as “mom” to scores of athletes. In honor of her service and contributions, she was inducted into the UTC Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Jackson of Lakeview; daughter Mary Katherine (Troy) Pyle of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister Betty (Willie) Williford of Dunlap, Tenn.; grandchildren, John and Anthony Jackson of Rossville, Amy Jackson of Chicago, Megan Stucky of Dunnellon, Fla., “J.P.” and Michael Pyle of Jacksonville, Fla., and three great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Raymond Booth of Rossville (formerly of Sisco, Texas) died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011. He was 76.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Texas and lifetime member of the D.A.V. both here in Georgia and in Texas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, who raised him, Sam and Anna Booth, and a brother, Arthur Booth.

Elizabeth Shelton Hinton, 70, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Elizabeth Shelton Hinton died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at her home in Washington Hills, Chattanooga, Tenn., after visits from friends and family concluding a day of celebration by singing and praying. She went to sleep peacefully. She was 70.
She was born June 22, 1941 in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Clifford Shelton and Emma Lewis Shelton; both preceded her in death. The late paternal grandparents are Ruth and Julia Shelton; the late maternal grandparents are Elliot and Jennie Winston Lewis.
Survivors include her children: one son, Gregory (Lois) Hinton; two daughters, Rosalind Adriene Hinton and Ronnette (Brian) McElvain, all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James C. (Aubria) Shelton of Chicago, Ill., and Rufus Lewis Shelton of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Geneva Shelton (Rev. William) Tramble and Reba (James Sr.) Southern of Kensington; former husband, Roy C. Harry E. “Key” Clark, 88, Lookout Mountain
Harry E. “Key” Clark of Lookout Mountain, the West Brow community, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at his residence. He was 88.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain and retired from Ross-Mehan Foundry following forty years of service. He was a veteran of World War II where he served as an MP with the 86th Infantry Division in the European and Pacific theaters and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the West Brow Holiness Church and always enjoyed deer hunting, working in his garden and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Harriet Clark, five sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth Inez “Suby” Clark; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Terry Schober and Darlene and Frank Goza, all of Lookout Mountain; grandchildren, Christy Johnson, Carrie Dodson, Tim Baxley and Tiffany Baxley, and great-grandchildren, Logan, Destiny, Aleigh and Jake.

Mildred Virginia Thompson, 90, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Mildred Virginia Thompson of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in a local health care facility. She was 90.
She was born June 5, 1921, in Tucker Springs, Tenn. The family moved to Chattanooga shortly thereafter. She graduated from Central High School in 1939. She attended Edmondson Business School and worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company, retiring as a business service representative after 37 years. She was a charter member of East Ridge United Methodist Church. She held various church offices during her lifetime, including chair of the administrative council and president of the U.M.W. She loved the Bible and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneeers and during the 1950s she served as a Pink Lady at Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy G. Thompson; sisters, Marie T. Harris and Ethel Curtis, and brother, Homer R. Thompson.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy E. Thornton of Rossville, and several loving nieces and nephews.

She was born in Whitwell, Tenn., on Nov. 2, 1957, was a member of Ladds Chapel Church of God, and enjoyed reading her Bible, praying and her dog, Bambi.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Guy Grimes, and brother, Richard “Buddy” Grimes.

Jack K. Dodson of East Ridge, Tenn., died Saturday. Oct. 22, 2011. He was 81.
He was born to the late Walter and Ulah Snodgrass Dodson on April 1, 1930 in Richard City, Tenn. Jack was of the Baptist faith, retired from Dupont and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and spending time outdoors.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Owensby and Clara Richards, and brothers, Walter Earl Dodson and Eston Dodson.

Rosie Lee McKeehan of Rock Spring died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011. She was 87.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence William McKeehan; grandson, David McKeehan; parents, John Norton and Nettie Lou Peterson Norton; sisters, Jess Lou Plott, Nannie Young, Emma Lee Clark, Mae Tate and Maude Goodson, and brothers, Lester and Willie Norton.

Rayburn Cecil Lusk, 63, Lookout Mountain
Rayburn Cecil Lusk of Lookout Mountain died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011. He was 63.
He was born on Lookout Mountain to the late Ralph and Ruby Leola Gravitt Lusk. He was a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971. He was the owner-operator of Lusk Automotive, Wrecker and Salvage Yard. He enjoyed racing and owned cars that raced at Boyd’s Cleveland and 411 Speedways and also enjoyed NASCAR Racing.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Releigh and Royce Lush.

Joseph Archer Glenn, 77, LaFayette
Joseph Archer Glenn of LaFayette, formerly of Chickamauga, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, in a local hospital. He was 77.
He was born February 22, 1934 to Elizabeth Archer and Elder Grifton Glenn of Chickamauga. He was preceded in death by both parents. He received his education at Darlington where he was a soccer team member. He continued that education training at Ft. Bliss, Texas. He served overseas in Vicenza, Italy in the Military Police Corps of the United States Army. He served on the board of directors of the Bank of Chickamauga for several decades.
He also donated many years serving his community, from investing in charitable causes, to Lions Club volunteer, to more than a decade of Gordon Lee High School Band Booster service and leadership. He was active in Christian service in the north Georgia area, being an active member of First Baptist Church of Chickamauga and First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe, serving on numerous committees and being both a trustee and long-term deacon and a 10 year member in his sister's chancel choir.
He was in the hardware business for nearly 50 years, beginning in 1953 at Glenn Brothers Hardware working with his father and brother, to years later owning the business and expanding to ownership of two other Ace Hardware Stores. He served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Building Materials Association, and working in the hardware business until his retirement in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Buchanan Glenn; a daughter, Angela Ford (Christian) and granddaughter Meredith; a son, David (Rebecca) Glenn and grandsons Jack and Carter; stepson, Stephen (Lynn) Martin and grandsons Bryan and Bill, as well as granddaughters Christina and Delaney; sister, Olive Wright; niece Lynn (Jerry) Campbell and their sons, Andy and Nick; nephew Mike (Carolyn) Wright; brother, Elder (JoAnn) Glenn, niece Jan (Steve) Billingsley and their sons Andrew and Evan, Grifton Glenn, and Tom (Darlene) Glenn and their daughter, Lauren and son, Garrett.

Christina Lee Jones Hooker of LaFayette died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011. She was 35.
She passed after a very short and unforeseen affliction. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She loved and served her family faithfully, as she did Christ. Her death is a tragedy beyond measure, and her resurrection will be a triumph that will rival it. He was a deacon and member of New Liberty Baptist Church, the Fellowship Sunday school class and Quitman Masonic Lodge 106. He was a a retired 30-year employee of Wheland Foundry and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was the son of the late Herbert T. and Lula Rhinehart Simpson and was preceded in death by brothers John and Earl Simpson and sisters Jessie Simpson and Emma Lou Rhodes.

Diane Swaney of Ringgold died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at her daughter’s residence, after a long battle with emphysema and C.O.P.D. She was 69.
She was of Baptist faith and had lived her lifetime in Catoosa County and Chattanooga, Tenn. She enjoyed watching television, reading and talking with her neighbors, the Hickmans, Blackwells, Bakers and Reeds, who have always been so wonderful, especially these last several years.

Mary Van Amos Lankford of LaFayette died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. She was 78.
She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved life and lived each day to the fullest. Her smile radiated a warmth and love that was felt by everyone whose life she touched. She never met a stranger or an enemy. Not one to back down from adversity, she faced every challenge in life with grace and the heart of a true champion. She rocked the cradle, wiped the tears and kissed away the hurt of six adoring children, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and today she is in Heaven waiting to clip the angel’s wings and send down to us her eleventh great grandchild, Kaitlyn Grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lester Amos Sr., and Jewel Honor Slaten Amos, and brother, James Lester Amos Jr.

Ruth W. Daniel of East Ridge died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at her home. She was 95.
She was raised in the Methodist faith having lived across north Georgia. Her father, Oscar J. Withrow, served as a Methodist minister for over 50 years and her mother, Annie E. Withrow was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had lived in East Ridge for over 60 years where she had served in the community and was a devoted friend. From childhood her main objectives have been to be a good wife, mother, and friend when and where possible. She loved people, birds, reading and writing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble P. Daniel; son, Thomas J. York; her parents; brother, James L. Withrow; sister, Louise Erwin; niece, Pam Erwin, and nephew, Harry Erwin, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Joe Daniel of East Ridge; stepson, William N. A native of Knoxville, Tenn., she had lived most of her life in the north Georgia Chattanooga area. She was a member of Chapel of Prayer Church in Tunnel Hill and a former employee of Sweetwater Carpet and Ft. Oglethorpe Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Albert Strickland Sr.; parents, Clarence and Gracie Phillips Partin, and two special dogs that died with her, Toby and Kody.

Robert V. Pell of Rossville died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at his home with his family following a short battle with cancer. He was 89.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1922, to the late Charles D. and Zelma Kilgore Pell, one of fourteen children, of which six have predeceased him. He was a carpenter for over 30 years and was a member of the Carpenters Local #74.
He was also preceded in death by his wives, Ida Duck Barnes Pell and Pauline Campbell Pell.

Lester E. McGowan of Rossville died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. He was 91.
He was born to the late Roy and Mammie Kilgore McGowan in Marion County before moving to the Chattanooga area in 1946. He was a member of Chattanooga Valley Church of God and retired from John Martin Construction in 1982 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing at his favorite spot under the Walnut Street Bridge and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
He is also preceded in death by his sister Ellen Marie Pack and brother Richard David McGowan.

Preacher Jim Cordell of LaFayette died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. He was 69.
He was a faithful servant of the Lord for forty years. He pastored at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Trion First Baptist Church, Ruhama Baptist Church and Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He was an alumnus of Shorter College aand was on the board of trustees for the Baptist Village and the Georgia Baptist Children Homes. He loved being with his family and grandchildren, dealing with antiques and working with ForEvergreen Landscaping in Rome.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Shamblin Franklin, Lecile Mae Williams Cordell, and brother, Leonard Cordell.

Thelma Inez Johnson Chesser of Chickamauga died on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011. She was 73.
She was born in Jackson County, Ala., to the late George Johnson and Flora Bell McEntire. She had resided in Chickamauga for the past twenty-three years. She was a former employee of Dan River Mills in Chickamauga and Busy Shopper in Fort Oglethorpe. She was a member of Rossville Baptist Tabernacle. She loved cats and talking on the CB radio, where her handle was “Blue Eyes.”
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Donald Chesser, and a sister, Joyce Vanderver.

Deacon Charles Randolph Minns of Tunnel Hill, formerly of Williamsburg, W.Va., died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalton, but attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette quite often. He retired from BASF after 33 and a half years of service. He was preceded in death by one son, Deacon Gregory Anton Minns.
He left his legacy to his wife of forty-eight years, Deaconess Shirley E. Minns of Tunnel Hill.
Survivors include his children; one son, Andre Moreno (LaShana) Minns of Chesterfield, Va.; one daughter, Coretta B. (“CoCo”) Jefferson of Tunnel Hill; five grandchildren; two godchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was born in Hamilton County, Tenn., to the late Lawrence and Hazel Brown, and was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Griffin. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Max Hambright of Rossville died on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer for the past 9 months. He was 77.
He was a native of Cleveland, Tenn., and had lived most of his life in the Chattanooga and north Georgia area. He retired in the 1970s from Combustion Engineering with over 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie Hambright; sister, June Hambright, and two brothers, Lee and Johnny Hambright.

Cloyd Michael “Mikey” Jordan of East Ridge, Tenn., died on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011. He was 51.
He was born in Tampa, Fla., to the late Cloyd Foster and Glenda Jordan. He was an avid Florida Gator fan and was a member of Greater Chattanooga Dart Association.
Survivors include his loving companion, Laurie Walling of East Ridge; children, Tracey Howell of McMinnville, John Walling of Rossville and Kayla Walling of Spencer, Tenn.; siblings, Phillip Jordan of Chatsworth and Darlene Keene of Fla.; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services: Monday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. (CST) at Long Cemetery in Spencer, Tenn. Visitation: Sunday, Oct. 16 after 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by: W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
Nancy Sue Bradford Forester, 75, Ringgold
Nancy Sue Bradford Forester of Ringgold died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, in a local hospital. She was 75.
She attended Burning Bush Baptist Church and New Haven Baptist Church. She was an avid hunter, loved to fish and coached girls softball with the Boynton Recreation Association. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buff and Ann Novella Collins Bradford.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Raymond L. “Ray” Forester; daughters, Vickie Anne Forester (Roland) Wilson of Rising Fawn and Carla Forester (Marty) Black of Ringgold; son, David (Beverly) Forester of Ringgold; brothers, Edsel Bradford of Chattanooga and Harold (Bernice) Bradford of Ringgold; sister, Ernestine Gibson of Gainesville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

William Kenneth Brock Sr., 79, Rossville
William Kenneth Brock Sr. of Rossville died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at his home. He was 79.
He was a native of Englewood, Tenn., and had lived the past 56 years in Rossville. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict and retired from Yates Bleachery following forty-four years of dedicated service. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time each spring in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Hazel Brock; sister, Margaret Aliene Brock; and brother, Curtis Brock.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Tava “Granny” Slack Brock; children, Bill (Jennifer Jones) Brock of Chattanooga, Jimmy (Star) Brock of Chickamauga, John (Lea) Brock of Rossville and Joanne (Robert) Brock Carter of Madisonville, Tenn.; brothers and sisters, Bob (Christa) Brock of San Angelo, Texas, Juanita Egner, Paul Brock, Tommy Brock and Amos (Darlene) Brock, all of Englewood, Tenn., Lillian Wood of McMinnville, Tenn., Billy (Joann) Brock of Louisiana, Mary Trew of Etowah, Tenn, Betty Smith and Lewis (Lynda) Brock, both of Madisonville, Tenn., and Ruby Russell of Lenoir City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jennifer Huskins, Julie Carson, Billy Brock, Rebecca Millott, John Brock, Toni Grant, Walter Johnson, Brittany Carter, Angie Chenevare, Elden Crane Jr., and Brooke Burris, and nineteen great-grandchildren, Robbie Brock, Sara Chenevare, Jordyn Barclay, Kayla Morris, Austin Crane, Gary Barclay, Savannah Brock, Micah Genter, Jodi Chenevare, Andrew Brock, Joshua Millott, Tessa Craze, Reece Genter, Brooklyn Millott, Emma Grant, Gavin Brock, Millie Chenevare, Natalie Johnson and Liam Huskins.

Vernon Lee Ware, 76, LaFayette
Vernon Lee Ware of LaFayette died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. He was 76.
He was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and was a member of Community Baptist Church in LaFayette. He was the owner and operator of Wares Wrecker Service for more than 10 years and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dora Ware; wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Ware, and sister, Hazel Martin.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Trenda (Kelvin) Cordell of Rock Spring and Brenda (David) Wooten of Rainsville, Ala.; four grandchildren and spouses, Nicholas (Christy) Corderll, Christy (Glenn) Patterson, Rodney (Jennifer) Wooten and Amanda Wooten; several great-grandchildren, Blake Blevins, Jordan Cordell, Keyera Patterson, Kinsley Patterson, Caleb Hunt, Katie Hunt and Sadit Brown; nephew, Kenneth Martin, and special friend, Gwen Thompson.
