ENTERTAINMENT · Rossville’s Lauren Alaina will perform from Las Vegas on the “American Country New Year’s Eve Live” special airing Saturday, Dec. 31, on FOX (11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET live; CT/MT/PT tape-delayed).

COMMUNITY · The 33rd annual Karen Lawrence Run benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be held New Year’s Eve, beginning at the Sports Barn in downtown Chattanooga. Registration starts at 4 p.m. The 2-mile fun run/walk begins at 5 p.m. and the 4-mile run starts at 5:30 p.m.

COMMUNITY · The Conasauga chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association will meet at the Whitfield County Health Center Monday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Kevin Flavin of Forrest Pharmaceutical Company.
