A Fort Oglethorpe woman was arrested on multiple charges after she was found to allegedly be under the influ-ence and in possession of drugs, police say.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Kelcy Ginette Stoker, 19, of Peagram Circle in Fort Oglethorpe was arrested on Wednesday, March 21, on charges of DUI, possession of a Schedule II drug, drugs not in original container, and texting while driving.

Stoker has since been released from jail on bond.

Stoker was stopped just before 1 a.m. after police observed her texting while driving, reports show.

“I passed the offender, and observed her with her elbows on the top of the steering wheel and her cell phone in her hand sending a text message,” officer Michael Cannon wrote in the report. “When I approached the vehicle, I detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Her eyes were glassy and bloodshot with her pupils also constricted.

Stoker then exited the vehicle for questioning, reports show.

“I asked the driver to stick out her tongue and observed a green film coating the top part of her tongue,” Cannon said. “She admitted to smoking marijuana approximately one hour prior to driving.”

Stoker failed multiple field sobriety tests, reports show.

After receiving consent from Stoker, her vehicle was searched, at which time a bag containing 20 Percocet pills were located in her purse.

“She stated that she needed the pills for pain, but could not get a prescription for them, so she had to buy them on the street,” Cannon said.

Stoker was taken to Erlanger at Hutcheson for blood work before being transported to Catoosa County jail with-out incident.
