COMMUNITY · Kristin Nalley, in association with The Colonnade in Ringgold, will offer dance classes on Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. through Wednesday, July 25. This two-part class will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, and Thursday, July 12. Lunch will be provided. Every family will receive a family fun pack valued at $50 at the end of the workshop. Only one parent or caregiver is required to attend, but both are encouraged to come. Tuesdays will include work on the driving range, Wednesdays will be spent on the practice greens, and Thursdays will be reserved for on course work. The camps will be directed and taught by Eddie Jackson, a former PGA Tour player who has spent the past 27 years as a teaching professional. COMMUNITY · An antique typewriter exhibit is ongoing at Chattooga Academy in LaFayette. The exhibit features Royal, Underwood and Smith typewriters, as well as Imperial and Smith-Corona typewriters. An Oliver No. 9 is also on display. The typewriters were manufactured approximately from between 1915-1950. A volunteer will be on-hand to assist visitors with the exhibit on Sundays from 1-3 p.m. Chattooga Academy is open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. most days Monday through Friday. COMMUNITY · A cholestech lipid and glucose screening — while you wait — will be offered from 8 a.m.-noon Thursday, July 12, at Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga). A lipid panel will show HDL, LDL, total cholesterol, non-HDL, cholesterol ratio and triglycerides. A 12-hour fast is required to produce an accurate result. No eating or drinking coffee prior to the test, but please drink water the night before and morning of testing. Reservations are required; no walk-ins will be taken. Lipid plus glucose is $25. ENTERTAINMENT · Multiple bluegrass gospel award nominee the Watkins Family will appear at Sacred Sounds Fridays, July 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ringgold Depot, corner of Depot Street and U.S. 41 in Ringgold, for the Share America Foundation. Also appearing will be teenage bluegrass band Mountain Cove Bluegrass. Randall Franks from TV's "In the Heat of the Night” will emcee.
