Ridgeland High School rising seniors Daniel Blankenship and Daniel Johnson, and Gordon Lee High School rising senior Paige Haney are this year’s interns with the Living and Learning Museum of Walker County, which is made up of the Marsh House, the Martin Davis House and the Chattooga Academy. Should the three students complete the volunteer-based program, which requires at least 6 hours of volunteer time per month with the Living and Learning Museum over the course of their senior year, they will receive the Clayton Bell Memorial Scholarship to help them attend the school of their choice. The scholarship was named in honor of the late Clayton Bell, whose work in the community, especially with the renovation of the Marsh House, “created a legacy of learning and giving back,” according to scholarship coordinator Don Coleman, Marsh House volunteer and manager of the LaFayette Wal-mart.
