• Between 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, and 9:51 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, a forced-entry residential burglary occurred on Peach Grove Lane, resulting in the theft of more than $3,000 worth of jewelry and electronics from the home.

The victim told police she arrived home to find that someone had taken multiple items.

She stated that she believed the offender(s) entered the home through the back door and she pointed out what appeared to be fresh damage to the weather stripping around the back door's framing.

The door to the screen porch was found left open as well.

Multiple video game consoles, a 42-inch television, a Dell laptop computer, and a 4G tablet were reported stolen, along with a pair of pearl earrings.

The victim was able to provide officers with serial numbers on some of the items.

The case was turned over to detective Ronald Roach.

• Between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, a theft by taking occurred at Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) weigh station along Interstate 75.

Deputies were dispatched to 2400 Tunnel Hill Road in regards to a complaint that someone had cut the conduit and pulled the copper wire out of the lines running to the weigh station.

The power failure caused the scales to be shut down for repairs.

A DOT employee was sent to repair the electrical line, and stated that located the break in the line in the 2400 block of Tunnel Hill Road in which an unknown offender(s) had cut and removed approximately 300 feet of copper wiring.

The employee also stated that the same section of wire was cut and removed on Aug. 21, but that he failed to file a report during that incident.

The case was turned over to detective Timothy Busby.
