The Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2012 Business Expo on Saturday, Sept. 22, at The Colon-nade in Ringgold. The day's events will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This will be the first year that the expo will be held on a Saturday, versus its normal weekday time.

According to Chamber president Martha Eaker, "We have moved to a weekend venue at the request of our ex-hibitors. This way we can hopefully capitalize on increased traffic when the majority of attendees will not be work-ing."

"This is an opportunity to see what all is offered locally within Catoosa County. We expect to have some 65 ex-hibitors," she said.

“We would love to have your dollars spent right here within the county,” she said.

Among the exhibitors making an appearance will be DocuShred. If you have papers or documents at your home or place of business and need to have them shredded, DocuShred will handle that for you. Just bring what you need to have shredded, along with you to the Expo, Eaker said.

Also on hand will be Junk King, recently featured on the AMC network's television show “Small Town Security,” filmed in Ringgold. Junk King will be at the Expo to collect broken computer parts and electronics for recycling.

Eaker, saying the chamber would like everyone to come by as there will be something for everyone, mentioned that UnikTings will be hand with its unique brand of wares.

Also on hand will be Mike's Wholesale, a local company that features pallets of merchandise such as chainsaws and other items. According to Eaker, she believes Mike's may be breaking down one of its pallets of items to sell.

Eaker also mentioned that Serendipity Salon and Spa will be present offering their services.

The event is free and open to the public.

A $5 lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and a drink will be provided by Boy Scout Troop 99 as a fundraiser.

If you can't be present at the Saturday event, it will be streamed live at catoosaexpo.com.

On Friday night, Sept. 21, the chamber will host its Business After Hours at The Colonnade from 5-6 p.m. This event is only open to Chamber of Commerce members and will be hosted by O'Charley's.
