CVMS Eagles 1-1 after blanking Ringgold

The Chattanooga Valley Middle School football Eagles rebounded in a big way from a season-opening loss by dominating Ringgold, 34-0, this past Thursday in Ringgold.

Marquie Davis rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. Ivy Boehm ran for scores of 9 and 33 yards, and returned an interception 45 yards for another score.

Markeion Jones had two catches for 55 yards, including a 40-yard TD, and added an interception on defense. Blaine Phillips ran for 30 yards on two carries and went 2-of-4 in the air for 65 yards, while Tyler Cutts had a 15-yard score on his only carry of the day.

The defense held the Tigers (0-2) to zero yards of offense. Cutts and Hunter Thompson had five tackles each, while Jay Bell recorded four tackles for loss and recovered a fumble.

The Eagles’ JV team also moved to 2-0 with a 20-0 win. Malik Davis, Markeith Montgomery, and Brandon Sewell were standouts on offense, while Jeff Fowler, Cade Crutchfield, and Nathan Strickland spurred the defense.

Chattanooga Valley will play on Thursday at Lakeview.
