The LaFayette Middle School softball team is halfway to a North Georgia Athletic Conference softball sweep.

The Lady Ramblers captured the regular season title on Friday, coming back from a 2-1 hole for a 3-2 win over Ringgold to secure an unbeaten league slate (8-0).

Shayla Ludy went 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored. Kayleigh Goff had a double, an RBI, and a sacrifice bunt. Shayla Youngblood singled, and Katie Cook drew a walk and scored one run.

Katie Cain pitched six solid innings with three strikeouts to get the win, while Lindsey Shepherd worked the seventh to earn the save.

LaFayette (15-5) will be the overall No. 1 seed in the NGAC tournament, which is scheduled to start on Monday. They will play on Tuesday at home against the winner of the first-round game between Rossville and Trion.
