•Between Thursday, Sept. 13, and Friday, Sept. 21, a theft occurred on Woods Road in Tunnel Hill, resulting in the theft of nearly $8,000 worth of equipment from the location.

The complainant, an employee with Georgia Power in Dalton, told police that between the listed dates, someone cut and took a large amount of high-strength rope that is commonly used to pull electrical wire along power poles.

The unknown offender(s) took approximately 4,200 feet of rope, causing the four main spools to have to be replaced.

There are no suspects at this time, and the case has been turned over to detective Michael Tinker.

•Between July 17 and Sept. 19, a theft occurred on Mack Smith Road in Rossville, in which two cargo trailers were stolen from the vacant lot.

The victim stated that between the listed dates, two cargo trailers that he had parked at the vacant lot while working out of town were stolen.

The smaller 14-foot trailer was empty, but the victim stated that the 20-foot trailer was loaded with various construction materials as well as tools and household items.

A witness stated that she saw an old man drive off with the larger of the trailers with the help of a younger man.

She recalled that the duo pulled the trailer out of the lot and pulled into the Mega Star gas station.

She added that the men were driving a white or primer colored medium sized pick-up truck that was too small to be pulling the trailer.

The men were last seen pulling the trailer in the direction of East Ridge, Tenn.

The estimated value of the stolen property is $9,100.

The case was turned over to detective Timothy Busby.
