Heritage High School FFA team headed for state competition

The Heritage High School FFA placed and earned awards in the first big round of FFA area competitions on Oct. 1 at Chattahoochee Technical College in Acworth, Ga.

The Heritage FFA team competed in three different events, and the Heritage environmental/natural resources team placed first out of 16 teams. The team moves on to state competition Dec. 1.

Out of 60 students, Avery Shupert placed first, and Bailey Lane placed second; Nick Franklin placed third, and Cody Nipper placed seventh.

Emily Cawood earned a bronze emblem in the job interview category from a field of 25 competitors, while Cody Hughes earned a gold emblem in the FFA quiz category from a field of 34.
