A Ringgold man was arrested in Fort Oglethorpe after, police say, he was found to be in possession of marijuana after being stopped for an expired tag.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Corbin Blake Adams, 21, of Sparks Street in Ringgold was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 2, on charges of possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), cancelled registration, and driving on a suspended license.

Adams has since been released from jail on bond.

A Fort Oglethorpe officer pulled Adams over just before midnight on Oct. 2 after observing Adams driving along Mack Smith Road in a vehicle with a suspicious tag.

"I was unable to see a revalidation sticker on the tag of the vehicle, so I had Catoosa run it for validation," officer Michael Cannon said. "I was then advised by Catoosa 911 that the tag had been cancelled."

Following the stop, Adams produced a state-issued learner's permit as his form of identification, reports show.

"I ran the license and was advised by dispatch that the subject (Adams) returned suspended through the state of Georgia," Cannon said.

Adams was then placed under arrested.

Marijuana was then found when a search of the car was conducted, reports show.

"During the vehicle inventory, I located a round metal object, which appeared to be cylinder from a revolver," Cannon said. "The object was a tobacco grinder, which is often used to grind marijuana. I checked inside of the grinder and found a green leafy substance believed to marijuana in the bottom."

Adams was transported to Catoosa County jail without incident, and the marijuana was collected as evidence, reports show.
