Lookouts’ Mozingo at Walker Chamber membership luncheon

Rich Mozingo, president and general manager of the Chattanooga Lookouts, will discuss his career on the business side of the baseball mound at the Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s membership luncheon on Nov. 27 at the Walker County Civic Center.

Mozingo will discuss his personal experiences in the realm of baseball. The program will include how he first came to Chattanooga in the 1990s, and after a brief hiatus, came back in 2011 as president and general manager.

Monzingo begins his 21st year in professional baseball with his return to the Chattanooga Lookouts. He began his career in 1993 with the Texas Rangers in Port Charlotte, Fla., before taking a job that November with the Lookouts as director of group sales. He spent the next six years moving up the ranks before becoming the general manager in 1999. In 2002, he moved to Columbia, S.C., to become president and general manager of the Capital City Bombers. After three years, he took the team and relocated to Greenville, S.C. In 2006, he moved to Lakewood, N.J., to work with the single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Lakewood BlueClaws. In August 2011, he was given the opportunity and accepted the position to return to Chattanooga as president and general manager of the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Walker County Farm Bureau will have a featured spotlight table at the event. Attendees will be invited to visit this table during registration and after the event. The spotlight table host will also be given two minutes each to describe their organization during the program.

Special door prizes at this luncheon will include a signed baseball from the Chattanooga Lookouts as well as opening day tickets. Other door prizes will be sponsored by Walker County Farm Bureau and the Walker County Chamber of Commerce.

Cost to attend is $15 per person for Chamber members and $25 per person for non-members. Registration includes a meal provided by ETC, including a potato and chili/soup bar. Non-Chamber members are required to pay online by Visa or MasterCard at the time of registration. Attendees may begin arriving at 11:30 a.m.; the program will begin promptly at 11:50 a.m.
