Our Walker County’s Best of 2012 votes have been decided. Congratulations to Music on the Square, voted the number one music store.

Mark Hise, the owner, apparently wasn’t able to attend the dinner to get his sign. Mark isn’t one to brag, so I don’t think many people know about it. I didn't even know he won until I overheard it from someone else, and I take lessons there.

With or without the sign, Music on the Square has a loyal following who will be happy to hear about the award. So whether you like it or not, the news is out now Mark.

Congratulations and thanks for all the hard work you do in the community. Additionally, the Memorial Day Music Festival is a great event that I personally hope will continue. It’s a lot of hard work for you and the other organizers, but well worth the effort. The event boosts the town’s economy while showcasing the talent of local musicians, crafters and artists.

So to you regulars at Music on the Square, and you know who you are, and any others who would like to do so, give Mark a congrats for the award and acknowledgement (and laugh at him when he turns red in the face.)
