ENTERTAINMENT · Ruby Red Christmas returns to Ruby Falls at Lookout Mountain from 5-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in December. The last tour goes at 8 p.m., shops and carriage rides are open until 9 p.m. Tickets cost $17.95 for adults and $15.95 for children (child’s ticket includes a photo with Santa and foam craft-gingerbread house or photo frame at the North Pole workshop). The synchronized musical light show is held from 6-10 p.m. nightly through most of December. Tune to FM 89.5 to hear the music played in the light show. COMMUNITY · The City of LaFayette will host a traditional and large-scale Lionel model train and village display inside a decorated Chattooga Academy/Gordon Hall. The display coinincides with the “Amazing Christmas” light show daily from 6-10 p.m., through Jan. 2, 2013.

COMMUNITY · Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will close the following monuments for the winter season: Wilder Brigade Monument, the Highway 27 picnic area, the Sanders picnic area and the Signal Point restrooms. ENTERTAINMENT · Celebrate Discovery Day on Sunday, Dec. 30, at Ruby Falls. Dec. 30 marks the 84th anniversary of the discovery of Ruby Falls. The first 84 visitors get in for the original ticket price of only $2. There will be 84 candles lit in honor of this anniversary. All guests will receive a vintage style postcard. Doors open at 8 a.m.

ENTERTAINMENT · One Eleven on the square in downtown LaFayette will host a Dance/Champagne party on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31. Admission is $10 at the door. Guests must be 21 and older to attend.

ENTERTAINMENT · Celebrate New Year’s at the Hunter Museum in Chattanooga. The Hunter Museum of American Art, Events With Taste and SoundForce Entertainment have teamed up to present a New Year's Eve Party on the Bluff, Monday, Dec. 31, from 8:30 p.m.- 1 a.m. Cost is $65 per person for Hunter Museum members, $75 per person for non-members, and $85 day of the event and at the door. COMMUNITY · The Obedience Club of Chattanooga, 4 miles south of Chattanooga on Highway 193 in Flintstone, will hold registration for obedience, rally, and agility classes for puppies and dogs on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, from 1-3 p.m. Agility I and II Fundamentals will be held indoors.
