The former restaurant, located on Ga. 151 (Alabama Highway), was destroyed by tornadoes in April 2011.
Krystal vice president of development Brian Blosser said, “We wanted to build a store that is as special as Ringgold is. The new more efficient design is geared towards speed of service and customer satisfaction.”
He said Krystal faced several challenges in making the new restaurant in Ringgold a reality.
“As we were working through the process, we had several issues to work through to make sure our customers could easily access our restaurant’s parking lot. Because of this, we turned to Dan Wright (Ringgold city manager) and state senator Jeff Mullis (of Chickamauga). They spent time with us and took our issues and made them their own. This restaurant would not happen without their assistance and we cannot thank them enough.”
The new restaurant will be located at 5337 Alabama Highway in Ringgold. When it opens in April, it will employ about 35 employees.
Krystal president and CEO Doug Pendergast said, “We are fortunate that our investors see the value of having one of our first new restaurants open in Ringgold. Within the next five years, we have a goal of having 500 stores and Ringgold will be a model for many of our future efforts. We appreciate the patience of this special community and look forward to seeing them as they roll through our drive-through or come in for a visit over coffee.”
