Catoosa County Sheriff's Office reported at 9 a.m. that there has only been one accident in the county this morning and that all primary roads are “pretty safe,” with the majority of black ice patches forming on secondary and back roads.
Just before 9 a.m., a vehicle was reported in the ditch off of Hoover Road between Boynton Drive and Battlefield Parkway.
The Fort Oglethorpe Police Department dealt with a couple of minor accidents this morning, including one on an iced over portion of Cloud Springs Road.
The Ringgold Police Department has not reported any accidents this morning, but did acknowledge icy patches within the city.
“We had a couple of accidents yesterday afternoon, but nothing so far this morning,” Ringgold police chief Dan Bilbrey said. “We have black ice patches all over the place, but luckily we haven't had any wrecks this morning. We hope that drivers exercise caution and drive slowly given the conditions.”
