According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:
Danny James Payne, 43, of North Valley Trail in Ooltewah, Tenn., was arrested Sunday, Jan. 13, for possession of methamphetamine and disorderly conduct. His bond has been set at $4,500.
Officers were dispatched to the movie theater at 1099 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway) just before 8 p.m. in reference to a white male causing a disturbance.
"Upon my arrival, I spoke with the offender, Mr. Danny Payne, who stated that he was running for his life and that people were trying to kill him," officer Robert Goolsby wrote in the report. "Mr. Payne appeared to be under the influence of drugs."
Early in their conversation, Payne admitted to using meth, reports show.
"Mr. Payne made the statement that he had been using meth for the past five days and had not slept," Goolsby said. "Mr. Payne then gave me permission to search him. While I was checking his pockets, he stated that a female had put meth in his pocket, but I was unable to find any."
Payne eventually stated that the meth was actually in his wallet tucked away behind a black card in the driver's license display area, reports show.
Officers then located the meth and placed Payne under arrest.
Payne was taken to Erlanger at Hutcheson Medical Center for examination before being transported to Catoosa County jail without further incident.
