A man from Fort Oglethorpe was arrested for battery and false imprisonment.

According to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office:

Twenty-two-year-old Codey Ray Peoples of Pegram Circle in Fort Oglethorpe was arrested on Jan. 15 while at a Mundy Drive residence in Rossville.

A 911 call alerted deputies to a “heated domestic dispute” in the driveway at the home.

Peoples was allegedly yelling at a female while sitting in a vehicle as deputies arrived.

The woman had already filed a complaint on him earlier that day to prevent Peoples from following her. She was trying to pick up her vehicle at the residence, when Peoples confronted her again.

He grabbed the keys to the vehicle and refused to let her leave for 20-25 minutes.

An argument broke out during that time and she alleges that Peoples grabbed her by the face and arms, according to the report.

He denies touching the woman. A plastic bag containing narcotics was found in the back seat of Peoples’ vehicle.

Peoples was released on a $5,408 bond.

He faces numerous felonies, including false imprisonment, eight counts for possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor for simple battery.
