The LaFayette Middle School boys staved off a fourth-quarter rally and claimed a 40-32 win at Rossville on Friday night.

The Ramblers (10-6) led 22-14 at halftime and stretched out their lead to as many as 16 points in the third quarter. But a 13-0 run would help the Bulldogs (6-9) slice that lead down to just two points, 34-32, with just under five minutes remaining.

However, Rossville would go scoreless from there on out and LaFayette would close out with an 8-0 run to pick up the win in their final NGAC regular season game.

Tyrese Hunter drained three three-pointers and tied KaDarrin Ramsey for team-high honors with 16 points.

Grayson Moore had 14 for Rossville, while Christian Gentry and Jacob Gadd had six points each.

In the girls' game, the Lady Ramblers led 16-2 after the first quarter and coasted to a 45-19 victory.

Shayla Ludy had 16 points to pace LaFayette with Shayla Youngblood chipping in with 12.

Brooke Fuller had six points for Rossville.

The NGAC tournament will get underway on Monday at Heritage Middle School. The finals are set for Saturday.
