CHURCH · Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church, 600 Mohawk Street, Rossville, will hold its 24th Annual Faith Promise Missions Conference from Feb. 13-17. Conference preacher will be Missionary Tom Lancaster. Each service will feature a different missionary presenting their field of service. Services on weeknights will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday services will begin with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., morning worship at 10:50 a.m., and Sunday evening worship at 6 p.m. There will be no Saturday night service. ENTERTAINMENT · Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga (ETC) will present Martin McDonagh's black comedy, “The Pillowman,” from Feb. 8-24. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. All performances will be held at the theatre's space inside Eastgate Town Center at 5600 Brainerd Road. COMMUNITY · Registration is open for the sixth annual Berry Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K races to be run Saturday, March 23, at Berry College in Rome. The Berry Half Marathon raises funds for need-based scholarships to the local (Rome) elementary and middle school. Runners have given to Soles4Soles in past years, and organizers plan to continue to support this charity, as well as contribute $1 for each pair of shoes donated to help offset the cost of mailing the shoes to needed destinations. There will be collection boxes set up at race registration March 22 and 23. There will also continue to be a collection site for Medals4Mettle, a non-profit organization that facilitates the gifting of marathon, half marathon, and triathlon finishers’ medals to children and adults fighting debilitating diseases. COMMUNITY · The Veterans of All Wars Museum, at 71 Red Belt Road in Chickamauga, will be closed through Thursday, Feb. 28, and will reopen Friday, March 1. The museum has a collection of guns and other memorabilia on display. The museum was founded by Robert H. Honeycutt, a WWII veteran, POW, and survivor of the 800 mile German death march. ENTERTAINMENT · In honor of Black History month, The Salvation Army welcomes "The Word Players" from Knoxville, Tenn. This group will present their Black History Touring Show of "Lift Every Voice" by Doug Floyd on Saturday, Feb. 16, at noon. "Lift Every Voice" is a one-act presentation in drama, song and dance that tells the story and the influence of the Harlem Renaissance (1919-1929). COMMUNITY · Boot Camp for Dads will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road) in Chattanooga. This session is for first time dads who want to learn more about the upcoming new addition in their family. Topics include diapering, feeding, why babies cry and how to handle it, how you can help the new mom, learn about postpartum depression and general hands-on infant care. ENTERTAINMENT · The Georgia Winery will host its third annual Wine & Chocolate Open House every Saturday in February from noon-4 p.m. A Wine & Chocolate Pairing class that will take place every Saturday at 3 p.m. During the class there will be pairings of five Georgia Wines and five Dove Chocolates. Those who attend will also take home a souvenir wine glass. Classes are $20. Reservations are recommended and tickets can be purchased online from the Winery’s website. COMMUNITY · Crabtree Farms in Chattanooga will hold its fifth annual Community Garden Start-up Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. This interactive workshop will teach the basics of successful community gardening from site planning and building, to fundraising, growing vegetables and raising community support. Participants will have the opportunity to get advice from Crabtree’s urban farmers, see spring vegetable seedlings up close, and share tips with fellow gardeners. Space is limited. COMMUNITY · Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge, Tenn., will offer a one-day Labor of Love (Lamaze) class ($75) on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This class is ideal for parents who don’t have the time for a four-week series. Lamaze breathing and relaxation exercises will be practiced during class. A support person is highly recommended to be in attendance with the expectant mother. Bring two pillows to class. RELIGIOUS · On Sunday, Feb.17, Mount Berry Church (Berry College, Rome) is hosting the band- Rend Collective Experiment. The worship concert begins at 7 p.m. in the College Chapel. Rend Collective Experiment is an eclectic collective of multi-instrumentalists from Ireland. The band began as a group of friends gathering to pray and seek God. They branched out from Ireland and have grown to international success including major tours with Chris Tomlin, MercyMe, Tenth Avenue North and Lecrae. They bring a fresh approach to congregational worship, and a heart and message through the spoken word. Admission is $5.

ENTERTAINMENT · The Atlanta Guitar Trio will entertain audience members with a history lesson as well as memorable musical selections when it performs at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Dalton State College in Dalton. COMMUNITY · Entries in the annual DNR “Give Wildlife a Chance” poster contest must be postmarked by Wednesday, March 27. This year’s theme is “Everyone can be a citizen scientist.” The contest is open to kindergarten through fifth-grade students in public and private schools and homeschool groups. COMMUNITY · The first Wash Me Pink Color Run to benefit Susan G. Komen will be held Saturday, March 9. The 5K color run course begins at 9 a.m. at 1104 Redwine Cove, in Dalton. COMMUNITY · Farm Bureau’s Food Check-Out Week, is Feb. 17-23. Farm Bureau volunteers and staff will focus on spreading the word about how consumers can stretch their grocery dollars with healthy, nutritious food. To celebrate the safe and affordable food supply our country enjoys, Catoosa County Farm Bureau is participating in a statewide Food Check-Out Week event and will donate $100 to the Georgia Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, the sponsor of the statewide effort, to help assist visiting families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta.
