A Rossville woman faces multiple counts of burglary from a jewelry heist in late January.

According to the Walker County Sheriff’s office:

Jamie Denise Graham of Elm Street in Rossville was arrested on Feb. 13 from a theft that occurred on Jan. 24.

A Lookout Mountain home had been burglarized during the day. The owner returned home to find that all of her jewelry boxes and their contents had been taken.

The family had left her home unlocked, and on that particular day she was running errands from 10:45 a.m. until 2:25 p.m.

Other valuables and firearms at the residence weren’t taken during the burglary.

Investigators developed a list of people who had worked at the residence, in which Stephen Keith Graham became a person of interest.

She worked with her husband, who scouted residences for valuables while working for a plumbing contractor.

However, he died on Jan. 26 of an overdose before an interview could be conducted.

Investigators searched electronic records of sales in Hamilton County, in which Jamie Graham’s name frequently appeared for selling jewelry.

For more than a year, officials with the sheriff’s department have sought for the county to draft a local ordinance requiring pawnshops and resellers to electronically submit their required documentation.

Currently, those merchant’s have hand-written logs that can be inspected by officers, but the automated system would clear more cases and lead to arrest more quickly, according to sheriff’s captain Steve Rogers Jr.

Graham sold the jewelry to at least three area merchants, including Rick Davis Gold of Chattanooga. Davis is currently being sued over the $20,000 ring that had been stolen by Graham during the Jan. 24 burglary.

The Graham arrest cleared the one case in Walker County and seven others in the neighboring area, with a few from Dade County.
