A LaFayette teen has been arrested for assaulting a woman.

According to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office:

Chad Andrew Smith, 18, of Katie Lane was arrested Feb. 20, following a domestic disturbance from the previous night.

Smith reportedly attacked a female while she was on the phone with another person. Smith took her phone, which led to a fight and then a chase in which he pulled out a gun, according to the victim’s statement.

The female ran away from the situation, avoiding further confrontation.

The volatile relationship has had previous domestic disturbance calls to authorities.

On Nov. 12, Smith and the same female were involved in an argument that led to a struggle. Smith allegedly struck the female, leaving marks and bruises.

Earlier that same month, on Nov. 2, investigators were called to an altercation between Smith and the female. Following that physical confrontation, Smith stole the vehicle that the woman had been borrowing from a friend.

Smith faces numerous charges from the incidents, including aggravated assault, theft, willful obstruction of law enforcement, failure to appear, two counts of simple battery, and criminal trespassing. He has been released on $9,711 bond.

its obvious who has the drug problem when someone hides in the bushes waiting on her to come out side. Honestly in my opinion nobody has any say so unless its him or her because they wasn't there. So who are you to say he didn't hold a gun to her head. Was u there ? Didn't think so . You only believe what u hear , untill you was there I don't think your two since needs to be in it. And yes she may have let him drive her car to go to her dads the night of the simple battery warrant only because it was the only way out of the torture. A man needs to be big enough to admit to his fualts.

HIS DAY WILL COME IN COURT!

The girl was never kicked out of her moms house. She graduated from high school (more than what anyone can say about him) and moved out. I have seen the pictures, there are bite marks on this girl, her panties were ripped off her, and he is lucky they didn't charge him with attempted rape. He has sliced her tires and busted all her windows out in her vehicle and always steals her cell phone so she has not way to call anyone for help. Yes, she lived with him for about 8 months, but hasn't lived with him in the last 6 months, but he continues to do these things to her. And if there was so much drug use then why did his mom allow it in her house, does that mean she is as bad as he is? Maybe the marks are not from the officers beating this 100% innocent teen (like the mom claims) maybe it is from where the girls 17 year old brother beat the crap out of him from what he did to his sister! His day will come in court!

Frankenchrist i have to agree with you on this one. Alway 100% innocent in moms eyes. Now tell why he was tazed. Because he was combative and would not follow the officers orders. It's not rocket science that if you don't do what they tell you, then they will make you do it. And as far as beating the crap out of him he would look a lot worse if there were 5 of them beating on him. Him being only 18 he is not leaga to carry.

No not a 100% innocent in my eyes, he has done wrong and I admit that, but he is not a monster like she made him out to be. And see the bull crape that was going on with my own eyes, she is no better than he is. She come to our home and start crape and and if he was so bad to her why did she continue to stay at my house with him? She stayed there with him the night she got the simple battery warrent on him. Wow she was really scared of him!

Such a young guy to be a waste of oxygen already. Oh well, maybe he'll remove himself from society or better yet the gene pool before anymore harm can come.

I see he used a gun also, no charge listed for illegal possesion so can I assume he was legal to own and carry it?

FYI I love how people convict a person without the facts. Both him and her lived in my house for over a year. Her parents kicked her out of the home because she was using drugs. I gave her a place to stay. Yes she was my sons girlfriend, the same person that is a waste of oxygen. the two of them got along just fine as long as he could give her money for her drug problem. As soon as he wasn't able to get her money she would flip out on him hitting and kicking him in places she shouldn't, all I ever seen him do is hold her while she tryed fighting him. He never layed a hand on her to hit her.She would always call her mom and they would send the sheriff dept. out. and as far as steeling her car, she gave him permission to drive it back home after he dropped her off at her dads house, he then parked it at her moms house up the road from us.And he never pulled a gun on her. what you have is a girl that called the law, to get back at him for not giving her what she wanted. But sence your God and all I guess you have the right to judge a person on what another person has said. He might not be an Angel but she's not a victim either. they failed to mention how he was tazed twiced and, handcuffed while five officers beat the crape out of him.
